Kozhikode was one of the great ports in Kerala and was the capital of Zamorin Rajas. It was here at Kappad that Vasco Da Gama landed in 1498. It is famous for boat building and timber industry.

Art Gallery

It is situated next to Pazhassiraja museum, this art gallery contains paintings of Raja Revi Varma.

Beypore

It is a small coastal town situated at the mouth of the River Beypore. It was one of the important ports of kerala and still it is famous for its country crafts.

Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary

The estuary at Kadalundi is a heaven for migratory birds. Terns, gulls, herons, sandpipers, whimbrels and other exotic birds flock into this place in November and return home in April.

Kappad

A small stone monument has been erected to commemorate the landing of Vasco Da Gama on this shore on 27 may 1498.

Krishna Meno Museum

The Museum has a special section in honor of Krishna Menon, where his personal belongings and souvenirs are exhibite.

Mananchira

The important institutions like Town Hall, Public Library, Common wealth Trust Office are situated here. The largest pond and park are well known land mark in this area.

Peruvannamoozhi Dam

This Dam site has birds sanctuary and also a crocodile farm. Boating facilities are also available.

Vadakara

There is a historical fort in this town. It is famous for martial arts Kalaripayathu. Just 5 km away from Vadakara, is a famous Lokanarkavu Bhagavathi Temple, which is 1500 years old, dedicated to Goddess Durga.

Vellari Mala

Scintillating waterfalls and velvet green landscapes make this an ideal spot for trekking.

Wayanad Ghats

The green ghats enroute to Wayanad has nine hairpin bends, each turn taking one to a higher altitude offering a better view of the picturesque plains below.
